Introduction
============
Welcome to CrashTick, my favourite tick program for the Amiga! :-)
CrashTick is a program for handling file echos, the method used for
distributing files in Fidonet. Such a program is normally called a tick
program, since Tick was the name of the first program that used this
method. CrashTick has the functions you find in most tick programs plus a
few others which are not as common on the Amiga. For example CrashTick can
handle packed tick files and has a built-in Raid which lets your downlinks
connect to areas themselves withour having to bother you. As an extra
bonus, CrashTick also has a comfortable settings editor called
CrashTickPrefs.
Main features
=============
o Powerful Announce function
o Built-in Raid
o Comfortable settings editor
o Can handle packed tick files
CrashTick is absolutely free to use.
This version
============
This version contains fixes for some minor bugs in CrashTick 1.0:
o The string 'Packing \"%s\" for %lu:%lu/%lu.%lu with %s' was logged with
the prefix TICKERR ("!") instead of TICKINFO ("=").
o In some places in CrashTickPrefs, all visible changes were lost when you
selected something in a requester that popped up. This happened in
Areas/Raid, Nodes/Raid and Announce.
o Fixed a small mistake in the Swedish catalog: The description string
for the Add requester in CrashTickPrefs/Areas was wrong...
o A mistake in the manual: The command needed to pass an RFC-message to
the Raid part of CrashTick when using CrashMail was wrong. The correct
command string is:
MAIL:CrashTick RAID %r
My apologies to everybody who has had trouble because of this...
o CrashTickPrefs forgot to tell you that the settings had been changed
if you only changed the access a node had to an area...
